Created Issue: CSP Plugin-Create Incident-Need to Start a transaction before Commit [30387]

Dears,

i am facing a strange error when running the CSP plugin on a custom entity ; the createincident procedure throws the below exception:

"Server was unable to process request. - <error>
<code>0x80040251</code>
<description>Need to start a transaction before commit</description>
<type>Platform</type>
</error>"

That means you just found a bug: the code in ProcedureDetail.aspx works only if you are working with the default organization!

Dear ,

Thanks for you prompt reply, i could manage to fix the problem and it is described below:

The URL that opens the edit.aspx was missing the organization name; here is what i edited in the project CSP.CRM.ISVExtensions

ProcedureDetail.aspx

string url = "/"+organizationName+"/userdefined/edit.aspx?etc=" + procedureTypeCode;

Higlighted in bold is what i added to the url and managed to fix the problem.

The Procedure Type and the Procedure Id are being sent well to the aspx page

Hello, Mira

Can you check whether the incident.csp_proceduretype and incident.csp_procedureid are being sent correctly to the aspx in the ISV folder?

In the window that pops up when you click in the "Procedure detail" link, check the address and post it here so we can further debug the problem.

i have a similar case , i imported the custiomization manually and placed required stuff in the ISV folder and when i create a csp procedure of type citizen feed back and click on the Procedure detail link it give error "Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown." Key Can not be NULL

Please advise

Hi,

indeed there where some news regarding CSP 2010 last week in WPC. Microsoft is starting to show the new developments we (and others) have done these last months. Unfortunatelly I don't know if they are planning to publish any code on codeplex. If I'm not wrong you sent me a private message and I sent you some contact details of people that could give you more details in terms of plans are roadmaps. Did you manage to contact them?

Using the installer on the downloads page, the CMS part is installed as a single shared entity where all the municipalities are using the same organization, and then, for each municipality a public portal and an intranet would be provisioned. Anyway, in a real-world project that is one of the things you may change to meet your requirements because some municipalities would use our CMS solution, others would like to have a separated one and others would have an existing one.

i meant that in the technical design document you've drawn a diagram for municipalities in page 5. and they all run under the csp

in your definition to municipality, do you include the cms part or do you mean only the internet and intranet site?

We are currently working on CSP 2010, built on top of SharePoint 2010 and including some new features demanded by several customers such as multilanguage, accessibility, Live ID integration, etc. I'm not sure about dates but I if you send me a private message I' can give you some contacts that can help you with this information.

Hello,

first of all, take into consideration CSP is just a set of guidelines and accelerators that might help you in projects involving technologies such as SharePoint and CRM, and not a solution itself. Every project you start should begin with an analysis stage to answer the questions you are asking here. I have used CSP in some projects and, depending on the number of municipalities and its size the architecture has varied significantly. Using CRM as the CMS allows you both ways of working: a shared organization and a different one per municipality depending on your requirements. The first option would be easier but the second one is obviously more flexible. But don't think these are the only options, as in a real project the complexity is sometimes higher and you need extra components such as Biztalk, AX, SAP, a BPM suite, etc.

Regarding your second question I'm sorry I don't fully understand, where must the cms, intranet and internet portals be included?

hello there, i was thinking about hosting csp as a multi-tenant solution.

in the technical design document, you guys were talking about the architecture of csp that it's designed to tolerate multiple municipalities.

how is this possible regarding using crm as a cms ? is it by creating different organization per municipality or sharing one organization and

manipulating customization through the UI?

and one more thing, does the municipality include the cms within it or does it only include the intranet and internet portals ?

Hi,

There is no correspondence between the source code and the virtual machine versions. The virtual machine versions refer to different additions (by us and other partners) just for demo purposes, including demo content and no source code is provided unless it is included within the virtual machine file system.

Anyway, there shouldn't be changes in the code existing in Codeplex, just new developments.

i ended up using the online demo vm from www.microsoftpsdemos.com

but there's a major thing to notice, at the demo site they offer csp v 1.61 but here the latest version is 1.1

so i was wondering about the source code of the latest version?
